Tucsonans are heroes
One overwhelming thing that has come out of the rampage that took the lives of 6 people and left many injured including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is the realization of how many heroes there are in Tucson.
People ask “what is going on in Arizona?”
Yes, we have crazy people and crazy gun laws and a toxic political environment.
But when the chips are down, Tucsonans stand up.
Giffords’ aide Daniel Hernandez who rushed to her side and probably saved her.
The four people including a 61 year old woman who took Jared Loughner down and prevented even more killings.
The hundreds of emergency response people who handled a massive catastrophe with a degree of professionalism that sets the standard for the nation.
The University of Arizona University Medical Center….wow….and remember the Level 1 trauma center there was at risk of being shut down due to budget problems. Everyone at the University Medical Centerl from nurses to doctors to everyone top to bottom showed what kind of people Tucsonans really are.
The entire community united in prayer for the victims. There has to be something about all that positive energy that saved Gabby and others.
Jared Loughner was an aberration. But we’ve seen what kind of people Tucsonans are…and they are one heck of a bunch of heroes.
Thank you Tucsonans !!!!
